Creative Thinkers Workshop
Theme: Five Senses

If you don't value your time, neither will others. Stop giving away your time and talents. Trust in yourself because you are willing to the risk, not because it's safe or certain but because its worth it when you get the victory. Nothing in the world is more common than unsuccessful people with talent.

There are two types of people who will tell you that you cannot make a difference in this world: those who are afraid to try and those who are afraid you will succeed. It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see with your naked eyes, the truth, the real truth. Take up one idea and make that idea your life! Think of it, dream of it and live on the idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves and every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.

To “LIVE” a “CREATIVE” life we must lose our fear of being wrong. My music teacher once said and I quote, “every idea is a good idea.” Natalie Lukkenaer, voice coach/music teacher Sauti Academy always said.
“All our dreams can become true if we have the courage to pursue.” Ciro Githunguri, my talent manager also once told me this…I am now a believer.

Heather Anderson, an Australian teacher involved in community work and education at Reuben Centre set up a “CREATIVE THINKERS” workshop that I was involved in as a facilitator and music teacher.

We began with students observing the functionality of their five senses. We built words, visuals and movements over the four day period for the students to come up with a creative representation from their community. Together we composed a song entitled “Zawadi Zetu” which translates to “our gifts”. We are hoping to record and shoot a video for it soon, so stay tuned to kipindi cha hip hop.
